Regional Microbiology - West Midlands

The West Midlands regional laboratory provides a comprehensive clinical microbiology and virology testing service. Together with the local collaborating NHS labs and Food, Water and Environmental labs, it forms the West Midlands Regional Microbiology Network 

The laboratory is home to:

• The Regional Centre for Mycobacteriology,  which provides tuberculosis screening and diagnosis for the east and west midlands.
• The Antiviral Susceptibility Reference Unit, the national testing facility for the HIV and herpes viruses.
